Warner Chappell Music (WCM) has appointed Edward Matthew as Vice President, International A&R and Head of Creative for Scandinavia.
Based in Stockholm, he will report to Shani Gonzales, Managing Director of WCM UK and Head of International A&R, as well as Lars Karlsson, Managing Director of WCM Scandinavia.
In the dual role, Matthew will focus on driving international collaborations and creative development across the company’s global roster, working closely with the wider network of Warner Music Group.
Matthew is the founder of Stockholm-based publishing and management company Lilly Raye Music, which he runs alongside A&R Manager Justin Martinez.
The company has maintained a joint venture partnership with Warner Chappell since 2019.
“My mission has always been to build a creative ecosystem that empowers songwriters to transcend borders. Music is a global language, and Sweden is at the heart of that conversation.”

The partnership expanded in 2023, when WCM announced an extension of its joint venture with Lilly Raye Music, alongside new partnerships within the JV with producer Tommy Brown and Parx Publishing.
More recently, in 2025, the company extended the JV, which now includes activity in Germany and the Netherlands with a focus on dance and electronic music, while strengthening A&R presence in the UK.
According to the announcement, Lilly Raye has become a powerhouse for songwriter development, bridging the gap between Scandinavian talent and the global stage.
Projects involving the company have earned three Grammy nominations and multiple No.1 singles in Sweden, with collaborators including BANKS, Doechii, GloRilla, and FLO.
Commenting on the appointment, Guy Moot, Co-Chair and CEO, Warner Chappell Music, said: “Edward is a rare talent who truly understands the fluidity of the global music scene. He has an incredible ability to identify world-class creative talent and provide them with the infrastructure to scale globally.
“We’ve seen what he’s built with Lilly Raye, and bringing his sharp A&R instincts and entrepreneurial spirit more deeply into our international A&R fold is a win for our entire global roster.”
Matthew added: “My mission has always been to build a creative ecosystem that empowers songwriters to transcend borders. Music is a global language, and Sweden is at the heart of that conversation.
“I’m incredibly excited to join Guy, Lars, Shani, and the entire Chappell team to make my vision a reality and create meaningful moments for our writers and artists.”

Karlsson finished: “Having worked closely with Edward through our partnership with Lilly Raye, I have seen firsthand his commitment to our songwriters and delivering the best for his team.
“He’s deeply respected in the Nordic region and at WCM for his integrity and ‘song-first’ approach. I look forward to seeing him hit the ground running, supercharging the team and the roster.”
The appointment comes as Warner Chappell continues to expand its global executive team and catalog partnerships.
Earlier this year, the company named Wan Yin Koh Vice President of Business Development, Digital, for Asia Pacific, and appointed David Checa as Managing Director of Warner Chappell Music Colombia.
The publisher has also continued to add new writers and catalog deals in recent months, including a worldwide agreement with songwriter and producer Andre “Dre” Harris, a global publishing deal with Margo Price, and an agreement with Bernie Leadon, a founding member of Eagles.
WCM has also recently signed French composer Victor Le Masne to a global publishing agreement as part of its broader strategy to expand its international songwriting roster.Music Business Worldwide
